Google Analytics 101 + 201 package deal

Track Overview

Data is revolutionizing the way we live, communicate and do business. However, harnessing the full power of data has only begun to be realized by those who can afford it. How do small, cash-strapped nonprofits compete in this data landscape? Insert: Google Analytics. Google Analytics is a free web analytics service that tracks and reports website traffic. Behind the scenes, Google Analytics runs on every single page of your site. How much time do people spend on your site? How much time do they spend reading a specific article? What do they click? What location of the site do they go to? Google Analytics answers all of those questions, and many more, to ensure that your nonprofit can optimize its impact.

Relying on intuition is a recipe for trouble. Nonprofits must focus on building a base level of data analysis competency throughout an organization. It is building a culture where staff don’t balk at numbers and metrics. They don’t tune out when the data analyst in the room makes her presentation. Rather, they embrace the data and use it to inform decision making and challenge conventional norms. And it all starts with Google Analytics.
